All three of their conference losses were by 1 run. They finished the regular season with a record of 42 wins and 8 losses. Kyle went from a high school District Champion to a regular season and conference championship team. St. Mary’s won all three of their conference tournament games. “Tex” won 6 games and made 10 appearances mostly as a reliever in conference play. In his first year of college baseball, Bumpas has posted a 7-0 record over 15 appearances with one start. He has compiled a 3.03 ERA and struck out 27 batters. This summer Bumpas will play in the Texas Intercollegiate League with Coppell. Kyle was the dominant pitcher on his Bandit teams. He pitched a no-hitter against the defending National Champions from Michigan in the 2002 Super Series World Series. In 2010, Bumpas was named to the 5A Texas High School Baseball All State team and Most Valuable Player for District 1-5A as he helped lead the Americas High School Trailblazers to the school’s first baseball district championship.
