Bandit Cory Falvey a sophomore at Texas State University found his stroke and helped lead the Bolbcats to the Southland Conference Tournament Championship. Falvey went 5X6 in the Bobcats win over Nicholls State, 2X3 against Sam Houston and 1X4 with two walks in the championship game.

Cory’s five hits against Nicholls State tied a Southland Conference Tournament record. He became the first Bobcat in school history to get five hits in a conference tournament game.

Falvey is the 2009 State Texas High School 5A High School Player of the Year. He helped lead the Socorro Bulldogs to the 2009 State Championship ending a 60 year drought for El Paso high schools.
